Description

As a former pig farmer, we know what matters for an optimal pig feeding system. We have managed to combine all the positive points of different feeding systems into one pig feeder. It is not for nothing that pig farmers all over the world use the VERBA Mewaco feeder.

The VERBA Mewaco feeder for fattening pigs or piglets doses fine feed such as meal feed and pellet feed excellently without bridging. Particularly the distribution of meal is difficult for many feeding systems without jamming the system, but the Mewaco is an exception. This makes the Mewaco feeder very popular among self-mixers, for example.

The Mewaco is a tremendously solid pig feeder made of a stainless steel trough and frame containing a translucent white PE feed bunker. The trough with the stainless steel Verba nipple is completely separated from the feeding area for perfect operation and optimal feed conversion. This makes this feeder significantly cost effective and virtually no water can creep into the feed in the hopper preventing bridging. This clearly separated feed trough and drinking trough makes the Mewaco unique in its kind making it a very popular feeder for pig farmers who expect high quality and are very concerned with optimal feed conversion. After all, most comparable feed troughs have a thinner deep-drawn stainless steel trough, which means feed and drink cannot be separated and bridging occurs quickly, causing the trough to jam and pigs to run out of feed. Also inside the Mewaco is a stainless steel stir bar that moves with the dosing mechanism and keeps the pig feed loose. This also makes the Mewaco excellent for feeding CCM. The Mewaco pig feeder can be set very accurately and quickly with the spindle on top that cannot move out of position. This saves on labor costs and ensures virtually no feed spillage. The Mewaco feeder is standard equipped with 2 stainless steel u-profiles so that it can be easily built into the partition wall. Stainless steel mounting angles and a lid are optionally available. A lid is standard with the Mewaco Duo.

We have received from ABZ animal feed a beautiful film of the very nice pig farm with 3500 fattening pigs from the Krüs family. The Krüs family tested several different brands of feeders and the Mewaco came out as the best pig feeder in the test. The Mewaco provides excellent dosing of the fine meal-like compound feed that they mix themselves with their own CCM. We notice that more and more pig farmers in the Netherlands start to feed finer dry feed and the Mewaco feeder was specially developed for this purpose 20 years ago. In other countries, where there are many self-mixing companies, the Mewaco has been used in large numbers for a long time. In the Netherlands this is now also slowly starting to grow, especially when feed prices continue to rise.
