The first stage of a piglet's life is very important for the rest of its life. A good condition has a healthy foundation. This requires a smooth transition from (sow) milk to solid food. The Piglet feeder and K dry feeder promote feed intake in the suckling period. And that in turn leads to a better feed intake after weaning.
Pigletfeeder
The VERBA Pigletfeeder is a very accessible feeder for farrowing piglets and can be placed very easily in the partition wall of two farrowing pens. The farrowing piglets dose for themselves the feed from the feeder by simply playing with the feeding bell. Due to the transparent storage bunker, the feeder does not have to be refilled as often as piglet bowls which saves on labor costs. In addition, the feed stays fresh in the stainless steel trough which allows for better absorption by the farrowing piglets. The Piglet feeder feeder is equipped with a horizontal U profile (standard 35 mm inside) which makes it easy to build into the partition wall. The Piglet feeder is also available with removable trough. This trough is easy to remove and easy to clean, should you first want to give milk in the round trough and you later want to switch to solid piglet feed. We also make other variations of the farrowing pen feeders, such as an easily reversible farrowing pen feeder with a trough on both sides. The Piglet feeder must be mounted to the wall and floor with mounting angles. If some piglets play too much with the bell due to boredom and therefore tend to spill feed unnecessarily then it is easy to mount a strip on the partition wall that limits the movement of the rotating bell. We can also supply this stainless steel strip as an option.
K-Series Dryfeeder:
The piglet dry feeders of the VERBA K series are suitable for all types of piglet feed. The trough is specially constructed for pigs from 5 to 20 kg. Due to the low trough, the young pigs learn to eat easily. In combination with the Verba "Duo-drinker", a K-series feeder is the ideal solution for the farrowing pen. Especially the K feeders with multiple feeding places are popular because the piglets learn to eat together from the feeder, because seeing food makes you eat.
Scientific research from Wageningen University and Research from November 2020 shows that piglets that learn to eat solid feed already in the farrowing house benefit substantially through better growth, better health and better behavior of the farrowing piglets.
