Heating the piglet nests in the farrowing pen plays an important role in and is of great importance to prevent piglet chilling. This is a major cause of piglet failure in the first days after birth. Piglets need an ambient temperature of around 35 degrees and thus will seek warmth. To prevent piglets from chilling but also to reduce the risk of lying dead, timely and sufficient heating of the piglet nest is essential. In a pigsty, an effective heating system is floor heating. It provides a comfortable lying area for the piglets and also controls manure behavior. When laying piglets and in the farrowing pen, underfloor heating is the ideal heating.
The Verba 35mm thick floor heating elements are available in all sizes and shapes due to complete in-house production. They provide very fine warmth for your piglets in the farrowing pen, for example, and give the pigs very comfortable contact warmth in the piglet nest. The verba heating plates can be heated with water or with electricity. The choice is yours.
The thickness, size, shape and finish of floor heating for piglet nests can be customized to any existing situation. We can produce both electrically heated heating plates and water heated heating plates. The electrically heated piglet nests are made of PE and equipped with an infrared net in the core. The water-heated floor heating plates for piglets are internally fitted with a 15mm oxygen-tight hose milled into the plate 50mm apart. The top plate of the VERBA floor heating is a stud model with rubber top layer that offers very good grip to the pigs even when the plate is damp. Because of this rubber top layer, the heated plate is soft on top and the plastic by default does not feel cold when the heater is off, as metal and composite does.
Easy installation of water-heated underfloor heating can be achieved by using high quality quick connectors that will not leak after several years. Lay-on edges are produced to your choice. Heating beds are also often replaced with Verba heating plates when existing systems are renovated or dysfunctional. This because of their long life span and high diffusion density / oxygen density.
Electrically heated heating panels we have a licensed installer install so it works safely and properly.
Both systems consume +/- 130 watts/m2
When connecting, use single full bore couplings. We can supply these at a competitive price. Efficiency is approximate and depends on various factors including supply water capacity - pen temperature in the house - type of connection - inflow temperature - number of plates per heat pump - length of connecting hoses, etc.
