On September 30 we had a company outing with our colleagues, partners, retired colleagues and Bert's family because of our 50th anniversary in May 2021. Because of Covid we unfortunately had to postpone it several times but now we finally had the time to go out together.
At 10.30 we were picked up at our company in Nijnsel by Hein Bos Coach Travel. From Nijnsel we drove with his coach towards Maastricht to Stiphout Rederij . Rederij Stiphout brought us with their beautiful tour boat towards the caves Zonneberg under the Sint Pietersberg. On the way we were offered a delicious sailor's lunch on the boat and after an hour of sailing we moored at the Zonneberg next to the ENCI. After a short but spirited walk up, we were given an interesting tour of the mines that were constructed entirely by human hands by 2 guides. It was a very impressive mining system that was pitch dark and cool with very high humidity. A special experience and very nice to see how people worked and sheltered here for hundreds of years. After a wonderful one hour tour we then returned to the boat. After a nice drink on the boat we boarded the bus to set course for the Schnitzelparadies in Roermond. There we had a three-course dinner and had a drink afterwards. Of course this made the return trip extra cozy because some participants couldn't resist Hein the bus driver's microphone. Around half past nine in the evening we arrived back in Nijnsel.
We all had a wonderful day together and we all enjoyed it very much. Moreover, the weather was also really beautiful. Everyone who was there, but especially Hein Bos: thank you very much for this very nice day!
